Accounting Coordinator

 A well-established non-profit in downtown Baton Rouge area is currently seeking an Accounting Coordinator to join the team!  Experience with non -profit or iMIS Software experience is a PLUS.  Position will pay in the range of $14-16 per hour to start.  Full time with great benefits!

Accounting Coordinator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process credit card charges and check payments
  • Preparing bank deposits
  • Paying bills with responsibility of approving certain entries
  • Preparing and entering bank drafts
  • General ledger entry
  • Preparing the main spreadsheet of AMEX charges each month, distributing spreadsheets to staff and collecting receipts from LAJ card holders
  • Assist with reconcilement of bank statements
  • Process new member applications
  • Run monthly dues billing routine. Review/print edit reports, then print dues invoices
  • Maintain vendor files of paid invoices
  • Makes new file folders for new fiscal year for all accounting related files
  • Coordinates with storage facility to move financial records offsite and have older records destroyed
  • Assists with database maintenance

Accounting Coordinator Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of accounting /bookkeeping experience 
  • iMIS software helpful
  • MS Office Suite skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Stable work history
