Collections Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage and establish compliance and oversight functions for Collections Operations.
  • Ensures that collection policies, procedures, practices and documentation meet federal and state guidelines.
  • Maintain the satisfaction of compliance standards by continuously monitoring volumes, actions & results in the Collections Department.
  • Establish standards of performance to ensure a superior level of customer service by coordinating and supervising the operations of the Collections Team.
  • Attain assigned goals and business plan initiatives, providing staff member with regular progress updates and coaching sessions.
  • Responsible for meeting collection service & quality objectives as assigned.
  • Manage team of Collection Representatives. Promote a positive, “fun” work environment.
  • Accountable for the selection, training, development and performance evaluation of all Collections staff members.
  • Implement supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Financial Institution’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Continuously work to improve system processes, workflow and procedures, maximizing staff efficiency and effectiveness.

Collections Manager Qualifications:

  • Business-related College Degree
  • 3-5 years related Financial Institution experience.
  • 3 years or more of management experience and/or applicable supervisory training
  • Strong knowledge of consumer and Indirect lending collection laws and regulations including Financial Institution and governmental agency regulations and policies.
  • Proven high level of knowledge within collection industry, bank products and services. Knowledge of Collections acumen.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.

  • Ability to identify critical needs and develop workable recommendations.
  • Computer savvy
