Snelling Staffing has Medical Assistant openings with a specialty clinic in Baton Rouge. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and completing daily administrative tasks and assisting practitioners during clinic. Medical Assistant Positions will pay in the range of $15 – $18 per hour, depending on experience! Great for Biology or Kinesiology graduates!

Medical Assistant Essential Duties:

• Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records
• Maintain accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in electronic and/or manual systems as established by the appropriate protocols, regulations, and policies.
• Providing instructions and directions to patients regarding diagnostic tests, procedures and treatments
• Preparing exam rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with patient care
• Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
• Answering telephones and returning messages
• Scheduling appointments and procedures
• Verifying patient insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations when necessary
• Coding of clinical and surgical charges
• Other administrative duties as assigned

Medical Assistant Requirements:

• 1+ year of Medical Assisting experience helpful
• Medical terminology helpful
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to interact with patients and co-workers with a professional, can-do attitude!
