Snelling Staffing is looking for a quality assurance manager for a local food manufacturing company that has been doing business in the Baton Rouge area for over 65 years. The position will be responsible for creating, developing, ensure compliance, and execute the facilities’ quality and food safety system to produce a product that exceeds high customer expectations.

QA Manager Responsibilities:

• Create, develop, and maintain a food quality system that includes HACCP.
• Interface with escalated customer/food service complaints.
• Support sales and marketing teams in the development of product formulations.
• Lead HACCP, Recall, Business Continuity Team and exercises.
• Create, develop, and maintain an “audit” file to be presented to outside auditors. 
• Cost control through proper management of budgets.
• Encourage and enforce high quality standards that include GMP enforcement and ensure adherence to product quality specifications.
• Ensure a food safe work environment through department safety meetings, plant safety tours, plant safety awareness programs, work orders, effective training programs and enforcement of GMP’s.
• Maintain efficient department operations by coordinating with other management functions.
• Expected on engage in and lead the creation and maintenance of a team based, participative, and continuous improvement culture that is focused on delivering value to internal and external customers.
• Maintain a positive team member relationship with all team members.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures created to ensure the production of high-quality food-safe products.

Position Requirements:

• Requires 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance and 15 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Certified SQF and BRC 
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is greatly preferred!
• Lean, six sigma experience and /or other problem solving training.
• Working knowledge of business measurement systems/KPI’s and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, SAP).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
